Northern Star 2025: $202,283 for Northern Healthcare!
March 13, 2026 – In partnership with UNI Financial Cooperation, the nine hospital foundations of northern New Brunswick are proud to announce that the latest edition of the Northern Star campaign has raised an outstanding $202,283. All proceeds are distributed to the participating foundations so they can continue improving healthcare and health services in their respective communities.
This record-breaking edition once again demonstrates the power of solidarity and the generosity of the people of the North. Thanks to the dedication of donors, volunteers, and partners, Northern Star continues to brighten hospitals and lift the spirits of patients year after year.
Each illuminated tree represents an act of love and support for our healthcare system. This campaign stands as proof of what we can achieve together—when united, great things are possible. Let us take pride in participating in and contributing to the success of this wonderful initiative.
“Northern Star is, above all, a story of solidarity. For several years, it has brought together nine foundations around a common goal: to offer our population high-quality care, right here at home. It is a model of unity that embodies the strength and pride of our region,” said Dr. Marilyne Bossé, Chairperson of Northern Star – Chaleur Region.
The nine participating foundations are:
- Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation (Bathurst);
- Fondation Hôpital de l’Enfant-Jésus (Caraquet);
- Foundation of the Friends of Grand Falls General Hospital (Grand Falls);
- Edmundston Regional Hospital Foundation (Edmundston);
- Lamèque Hospital and CHC Foundation (Lamèque);
- Friends of Healthcare Foundation (Campbellton);
- Fondation Dr Romaric Boulay (Saint-Quentin);
- The Friends of Stella-Maris-de-Kent Foundation (Sainte-Anne-de-Kent);
- Fondation Les Amis de l’Hôpital de Tracadie (Tracadie)
The traditional Tree Lighting Evening took place on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, in front of the participating hospitals. Many decorated and illuminated trees symbolized the light, unity, and hope of the people of the North.
With this latest edition, Northern Star has now surpassed $1,935,000 raised since 2006. These donations directly help improve access to high-quality healthcare close to home.
