ROSES RADIOTHON – A SUCCESSFUL 18TH EDITION FOR HEALTHCARE AT HOME FIRST!
Bathurst, April 26 2024- In the spirit of solidarity and benevolence that characterizes our community, the 18th edition of the Roses Radiothon was a brilliant success. This Friday, thanks to the unfailing commitment of our dedicated volunteers, we set our sights high, hoping to raise $190,000 as our goal.
With heart and enthusiasm, we exceeded our expectations. A very impressive $302.601 was announced at the end of the day at 6 pm, surpassing our initial goal.
The four Acadie-Bathurst Hospital Foundations, united by a common cause, have orchestrated this major fundraising effort to acquire state-of-the-art medical equipment. These invaluable tools will strengthen access to essential care, right on our doorstep, for the population of our northeastern community. Together, we’ve also paid special attention to cancer awareness and control, supporting the ongoing improvement of cancer screening and treatment services.
This positive achievement is a shining reflection of the solidarity of the Chaleur region and the Acadian Peninsula. It is the fruit of a collective effort, and we would also like to salute the role of radio partners such as CKLE, CKRO, BOUNCE, and the newspaper l’Acadie Nouvelle. The stories shared resonated as a powerful reminder of the vital importance of local healthcare, particularly in the fight against cancer.
Our presidents, Alice Hébert, Joseph Lanteigne, Annie (Julie) Gauvin, Renée Noël, Éric Robichaud and Solange Thériault, were the pillars of this wonderful adventure, providing the energy and motivation needed for an exceptional Radiothon. In the aftermath of the announcement of this success, their gratitude is all the greater: “Words fail to express the depth of our gratitude for people’s generosity. Together, we raise our voices to salute every gesture, every donation, that shows extraordinary support for care at home first. These contributions transform lives, offering hope and care close at hand for those facing illness, surrounded by the love of their loved ones,” explains Irène Thériault, Roses Radiothon ambassador for the Chaleur region.
The magic of this 18th edition would not have been possible without the passionate commitment of our volunteers. We’d like to extend our sincerest thanks to all those who shared their stories or took the lead on radiothon committees and related activities. Your participation is the beating heart of our success.
The Roses Radiothon is a symbol of our collaboration and shared commitment. With funds earmarked for the fight against cancer at our regional hospital and for improving healthcare in our Acadian Peninsula hospitals, every donation contributes to a healthier future that makes a real difference to us all.
